Winter Landscape (Léger)

“Winter Landscape” is a late work by Fernand Léger. The artist combines a landscape scene with industrial elements. A bright yellow sky dominates the composition. In the foreground, black biomorphic forms represent frozen ground or plants. An electrical pylon structure crosses the canvas, its black and white lines contrasting with flat areas of red and green. It is a vision of nature in winter, but a nature already transformed by industry, all rendered with the graphic style and dissociated colors of his final period.
