This masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance, executed by the famous painter Botticelli Sandro, is a detail of a monumental fresco in the Sistine Chapel. In the upper part, Jesus, clad in a red tunic and a large blue mantle, converses on a steep path with a bearded old man wearing a brown monk’s habit that conceals his true demonic nature. In the foreground, Christ advances solemnly, surrounded by three angels with colored wings and faces full of devotion. One of the celestial messengers wears a bright orange tunic, while another, dressed in green, delicately holds a branch of white lilies, a symbol of purity. The background is dominated by an oak forest with dark, twisted trunks standing out against a mountainous landscape and a clear sky. The lateral light models the volumes of the complex draperies and illuminates the serious faces of the figures.

The technical skill of the craftsman is fully expressed in the management of multiple narration and the delicacy of vegetal details. His mastery of mineral pigments preserves the brilliance of the blue and red colors while accurately rendering the rough texture of the trees.
