The original masterpiece depicted a regal guard standing at a palace entrance alongside a fierce wild beast. This reinterpretation replaces the realistic predator with the famous villain tiger from The Jungle Book.

In Ernst’s original artwork, the palace guard held a wild tiger painted with realistic accuracy on a leash. In this parody, the natural predator gives way to Shere Khan, the famous villain animated by Disney Studios. The cartoon tiger retains his flat orange and black colors, sly smirk, and two-dimensional animated aesthetic. He walks down the pale marble steps guided by the turbaned guard, whose traditional attire remains faithful to the historical model. The contrast between hyper-realistic Orientalist tilework and the simplified silhouette of the animated character generates obvious comedic tension.
