Sheep (Marc)

In “Sheep”, Franz Marc transforms a pastoral scene into a symphony of pure colors. The animals’ forms are radically simplified, defined by thick, sinuous black outlines. They rest on a ground of vibrant pinks and purples, while the landscape behind them is a composition of deep greens, reds, and blues. The colors, completely detached from reality, are used for their emotional and spiritual value, creating an atmosphere of dream and harmony.
