Old Faun (Stuck)

With “Old Faun”, Franz von Stuck explores a more bucolic and peaceful register of mythology. In the heart of a lush green clearing, under a night sky imbued with mystery, an aging faun, recognizable by his long horns and white beard, sits peacefully. He plays passionately on a golden pan flute, filling the scene with a silent melody. Around him, young faun-children with curious faces and little hooves approach, visibly captivated by the music of their elder.
