Ivy* by Alfons Mucha

The flowering of graphic arts finds its most beautiful expression in the organic aesthetics of Art Nouveau initiated by Alphonse Mucha. Her bare shoulder reveals drapery adorned with stylized floral motifs in orange and golden hues of Byzantine style. A yellow rose is pinned at the base of her neck, while a square border decorated with pale green ivy leaves harmoniously frames the whole circular scene.

The technical virtuosity of the artist is expressed in the extremely fine outline of the lines and the softness of the color gradients.
