On the left side, the majestic facade of the Doge’s Palace stretches in a rigorous perspective, preceded by the tall stone column topped by the winged lion of Venice. Figures dressed in dark cloaks and traditional hats stroll in small, lively groups on the sunny quay. In the foreground, numerous dark gondolas and fishermen’s boats glide over the clear waters of the lagoon. The boatmen work vigorously with their long wooden oars to guide the vessels. In the background, the shoreline stretches toward the horizon under a blue sky dotted with white clouds. The soft golden morning light envelops the marble facades.
