This splendid marine composition forcefully synthesizes the Romantic aesthetic of the sublime and natural drama. Conceived by Eugène Delacroix, this version entitled “Christ on the Lake of Gennesaret” illustrates the famous biblical passage with increased spatial breadth and dynamism.
