The Baptism by El Greco

Above, a white dove deploys its wings under a stream of golden light. The upper part shows God the Father seated on clouds, dressed in white, surrounded by a multitude of musical angels and naked cherubs moving about in a tormented sky.

The painter demonstrates an absolute mastery of glazes to make the flesh of the bodies vibrate along with the changing brilliance of the colored fabrics.
