This splendid vertical woodcut belongs to a famous series dedicated to the wild beauty of provincial waterfalls. Aptly entitled “Ono Waterfall on the Kisokaido”, this spectacular creation signed by the hand of Hokusai Katsushika expresses the immense power of nature. Through this grandiose landscape, the artist depicts the smallness of humans face to moving natural forces.
