Discover warm and voluptuous oil paintings of Fernando Botero

An artist masterpiece hand painted with passion by an expert copyist on high quality linen cloth

Botero Fernando
Born in Medellín, Colombia, Fernando Botero Angulo developed his artistic apprenticeship by studying Italian Renaissance frescoes and pre-Columbian art during his youth. Establishing himself across Europe and the Americas, the artist developed a unique figurative aesthetic characterized by ample and opulent volumes. His production aligns with the broad landscape of Modern and Contemporary Art. This distinctive career renewed the representation of forms.

The artist’s painting is distinguished by the exaggeration of proportions and the systematic rounding of bodies, giving figures an ironic and poetic monumentality. A luminous palette combines bold, saturated hues with homogenous light devoid of sharp shadows. In “Mona Lisa”, the famous Renaissance icon undergoes this volumetric metamorphosis filled with humor. The reinterpretation of classical masterpieces continues with “The Arnolfini”, where the couple acquires striking physical opulence. Biblical figures appear in “Adam”, treated with rounded outlines. Finally, the female counterpart is observed in “Eve”, emphasizing the roundness of volumes.

As a master of South American figurative art, the painter exerted a major influence on the global recognition of Latin American art. His monumental sculptures and canvases left a lasting mark on the public spaces of numerous capitals. His artistic legacy remains an essential reference of modernity.
Acquiring a copy of Botero allows one to contemplate the scale of volumes and the cheerfulness of colors, faithfully restored in a magnificent oil painting on canvas.
